Work at Home in Progress

Busy Season

So nice to have lots of work to do. My medical transcription account, for the first time in a year or thereabouts, has a fair size backup. We’re still in turnaround, that is, all reports are less than 24 hours old, but it’s getting close. I had my husband take our daughter out for a couple of hours to give me a little peace and quiet beyond what I will get when nap time comes. They should be back soon, so she can have lunch and take her nap.

On the other hand, I’ve barely had time to work on the website. That’s good in its way, I suppose, since medical transcription does bring in more money, but I LIKE working on my website. It’s so much fun knowing that I’m helping parents find ways to stay at home or work at home, and have more time with their families. It’s a topic very near and dear to my heart.

Interesting Spam

I just got an interesting spam, which I just have to post here:

Hi there! Sorry for an e-mail out of the blue, but I just did a search for the term mystery scam shopping on Google and found homewiththekids.com ranked 27. Since I publish a related website about Business - Opportunities (it’s strictly informational, so I’m definitely NOT a competitor of yours), I’d like to link to your site.

My site is one of the best resources for info in our category (I think you’ll see that my site is pretty clean and high quality, and I only request to link to other quality sites for exchange). Because of this great info, I get a pretty decent amount of visitors…so if I link to you, your site should get some nice traffic as well.

So you know, I’ve already linked to you and will keep it there for a few days until I hear from you. If you’re interested in swapping links for good, please reply back so I can get you all of the pertinent information.

Thanks!

Now, there is no doracasso.com, but when I searched Google for her, I found out that a broad range of sites have been getting emails from “her”, although it appears it may actually be from a he. So glad I didn’t respond. Just a friendly reminder to always check on who wants to link with you.

Link Exchanges

I got some new link exchanges going. So far just 4 new links, but I have more than 20 still pending. I’m using a linking service, http://www.linkmarket.net/, which allows you to choose who you link to, and does not generate automated pages, so it should be pretty search engine friendly.

Sick Daughter

Still dealing with a sick little girl. But, I think she’s almost better. Maybe she’ll even sleep through tonight!

Ugh! I’m going to have to stay up a bit tonight to get enough transcription done. My poor little girl didn’t sleep very long for her nap, less than an hour, so I’m way behind for the day. It’s one of the prices I pay to stay home with her, though.

Mommy Weekend

One of those weekends I have to be more mommy than business owner. My daughter has a nasty little bug today. We’re lucky, though. Her friend that gave it to her was vomiting from it. Ariel hasn’t so far.

Even so, during a nap, I managed to finish a Flash movie to hopefully interest people in the site. It’s at http://www.homewiththekids.com/movie/mothers2.html. Feel free to share the link if you enjoy the movie.
