Getting ready to change hosts here.

It’s not a fun process, as I decided to change registrars for my domain name too (trying to keep things consistent, and the domain name was with the host I’m leaving), so I may hit a little downtime, but I’ll be watching carefully for that, so as to minimize it. I’ve already backed up the site, and I’ll be keeping backups of my discussion board so that hopefully any switch there can be reasonably smooth.

Changing registrars is actually the hard part. It takes much longer than getting a new one, and I can’t seem to get the nameservers on the new registrar ready to point where I need them to be. That’s my one concern for downtime - the change in nameservers takes up to two days, so if I can’t do it in advance, that’s two days down. I’ve done the best I can, as I have some hosting where my domain name is moving to, so most of my site is there, but the hosting doesn’t have all the functionality I need, so not everything will make it there.
