As I mentioned earlier today, I’ll be checking out PayPerPost. This website caught my eye for those of you who love your books, DVDs, CDs, video games, etc.
The problem with buying all these things is that there can come a time where you don’t want them anymore. You want a different title and you want the excess out of your house. You have options, of course, such as giving them to charity or listing them on Freecycle. But if you don’t mind shipping and want to get something in return, titletrader looks like a pretty good option.
You may have guessed it all ready. You list the titles you’d like to get rid of, and in return you get points that allow you to request titles in return. Listing and requesting are all free. You do have to pay for your own shipping when you send your books, DVDs or whatever out.
While that is an expense, it’s far less than buying new would cost you, plus you get the bonus of receiving new titles for your collection that you are interested in.
The selection is excellent. They have over 180,000 items are listed on the site. You can sign up for Premium features if you want even more functionality for an annual fee, but even the free membership will give you plenty to work with.
Did I join? No. I’m a serious science fiction fan and almost never get rid of the books I buy. I like it that way. The only movies we buy are for Ariel and Gage, and you know how kids are about their movies. Can’t get rid of those. But I am going to keep this site in mind if we ever do a cleanout. Has to happen someday.![]()
