I have to admit, I had to chuckle when first hearing about Trump University. It just seemed so improbable. But at the same time I have to wonder if he’s onto a good thing.

Let’s look at the Trump University Marketing Mastery Program for example. If it were a regular university, one where you had to struggle for parking and walk to classes, I wouldn’t blink at the concept. They have a good expert on the topic and what appears to be some pretty tough assignments, such as developing a marketing strategy to save a failing restaurant.

The course is guided by Don Sexton, who is on the faculty at Columbia University’s Business School. He also works as a consultant to Fortune 500 companies. Pretty healthy credentials.

OK, so it’s not my own usual line, online marketing. But for many entrepreneurs business is about things like restaurants and such where they deal with customers face to face. If I were starting that kind of business this would be the kind of education I’d probably want. I suspect the principles would apply online as well… you’d just have to figure out how to tweak them.
