I finally finished the first step of the big update to my work at home jobs section. There are now more jobs listed with brief descriptions for each company. I’ve also added new categories, such as blogging, translation and voiceovers.

Now, many opportunities to work at home are actually independent contractor or freelance positions. Very few companies hire you as an employee when you work at home. Just something to keep in mind. And a few of the opportunities I list are job marketplaces rather than actual jobs.

I’m just ecstatic to be done with that part.

However, as I said above, this is only part 1. Part 2 will no doubt take quite a while too, as it involves finding QUALITY resources for people to use for the various work at home positions. Some free, some paid, some on this site, some not. You get the idea. I have no idea how long that will take.

Every time I go through updating these things a few things amaze me. The first is how many possibilities there are out there to work at home. The second is just how much competition there is for every work at home job. Many companies flat out state on their site that they get far too many applications or have plenty of employees.

The third thing that amazes me is how much cleanup I have to do of links. Occasional company disappearing, links changing and so forth. That’s why I often link to home pages rather than employment pages, because the home page is a much more durable link.

I hope you enjoy these new resources. It’s fun compiling resource I know people will get real benefit from.
