I think about that a lot too. But I've also found the TV to be the worst babysitter. Just the fact that I can send my kids outside to play and get more peace and quiet on average tells me plenty.

I love to show my son the shows I loved growing up. He's a fan of the Muppet Show as well as all the Muppet movies. My husband enjoyed the Animaniacs (he claims it has humor meant for adults) and now has my son hooked on that as well. He's also hooked on the old Looney Tunes DVDs we have. However, I also worry that he might be watching too much TV.

We just rented Arthur and the Invisibles... My boys (4 & 6) LOVE it. They seldom want to watch a movie repeatedly. It could be a little scary for younger kids but it is so magical.
