It’s a cute idea, I’ll grant that. A video game console controlled like an exercise bike. I’d almost say too bad it’s for the kids. I can even picture my kids enjoying it.
But I will tell you my biggest problem with the Fisher Price Smart Cycle.
What about when the kids outgrow it? It says ages 3-6. It would be sad for a 7 year old to have to give up their game because they got too big for the bike.
I do see some plusses. It is at least a more active way for a child to play a video game. The games sound like ones the kids would enjoy.
But then there’s no AC adapter, for it, so you’re stuck buying D cell batteries. That’s a major pain. The games can’t be saved either, so if your child gets really far into the game it doesn’t matter. They have to start at the beginning next time. I can tell you right now that that would infuriate my daughter with some kinds of games, but matter less with others.
Overall, I like the concept. I think it could use some pretty simple improvements, but not bad for a start.
