I'm embarrassed to admit that our tv is on most of the time...but there is nothing ever on our kids shouldn't be watching. The only tv show our kids really watch is Sesame Street. They are 3 years old and at this point they really don't sit down in front of the tv for more than about 15 minutes at a time. They'll watch for a few minutes and then go off and find a toy to play with. They enjoy watching kid movies with their dad when he gets home from work...it's one of the ways they spend time together and they really enjoy it. I agree that moderation is key. I would definitely turn the tv off if they parked themselves in front of it for too long.
