Many libraries now don’t just have books available to be checked out. They have movies too. Not the selection you’ll get from Netflix, certainly, but probably a pretty fair selection.

Some libraries do currently charge a check out fee, so you will have to ask. The fee may also be waived on educational movies. Not all branches even within a particular system may have the same fees on movies.

Many libraries loan books between branches, so find out about inter-library loans if the movie you want isn’t at the one nearest you. They may be able to get it within a few days.
