So true. It’s been that way a long time, of course, but it can be worse now with the internet and the ability to not only scold random people you meet when you’re out and about, but also random people on forums, and do it anonymously. It’s a rough time for parents, and being told by so many people that you’re wrong no matter what you do as a parent is hard.

People like Dr. Laura rankle me. There isn’t a right way and a wrong way to parent. Everyone has to work out her own personal style.

Parenting is the only job I know where total strangers will come up to you on the street and tell you you are doing it wrong. Does anyone do that to an accountant? Or a lawyer?

People need to butt out. Period.

I fully agree with you . . . parents don`t HAVE to stay home in order to be good parents. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that some mothers are actually better at being a mom if they work outside the home.

We aren`t all equipped with the same need to be with our kids 24-7 and for some people, they just can`t do it and be happy and fulfilled, which I think is also important.

That being said, I`m all for moms working at home if they can and want to!
