Hush, little baby...
So, what do you buy for baby or the parents-to-be? This kind of shopping is fun for a lot of people, whether for your own baby or for someone else's. There's just something so special about buying for a little one.
Deluxe Grooming Set - I was given this one before my daughter was born, and I've continued using it on my son. It's highly practical for the most part, although the toothbrush really isn't useful for a while. I like that it includes nail clippers as well as nail scissors, since sometimes one is easier to use than the other.
Family Thermometer Gift Set - Let me tell you, the number of thermometers in this pack really is practical. It takes time to learn to properly use some thermometers, especially those that work in the ears, and sometimes your doctor will just insist on rectal temperatures. With this set, you're covered!
TrueAir 4.0 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier - Say it with me: "A cool mist humidifier is a must!" If you don't have one of these or know someone who doesn't, get this now! It's wonderful for getting through the cold season when the sinuses need a little extra moisture.
Baby Bjorn Carrier - This is the carrier more moms and babies prefer. It's a great way to carry baby around the house or walking around.
Nojo - Baby Sling - Don't like the Baby Bjorn? Baby slings are a great way to go. It's simply a matter of preference as to which one is better than the other, but either way you can get a lot more done using either a sling or a carrier.
Cross Terrain Carrier - If you like to go hiking, this is a great solution. My husband loves his! Too heavy for everyday use, but absolutely perfect for family hikes.
Baby BumbleBee 10-Volume Set (DVD) - Great educational DVDs for your little one. The individual ones are also available.
New Pump In Style Original Breast Pump - I have a Pump In Style, and if you're breastfeeding, even as a stay at home parent, this is the one to get if it fits in the budget! By replacing appropriate parts (not the motor, but the parts that actually come in contact with the milk), my sister and I have shared this through 4 children. She works outside the home; I work at home but pump so my husband can share the feedings and so we can go out. It still works wonderfully. This may cost more than other pumps, but it is well worth the money due to it's durability and how well it pumps breastmilk.
Isis Breast Pump - If the Pump In Style just costs too much, this one is pretty good too! I used it while waiting for my sister to finish using the In Style, and it did a good job. The disadvantage is that you can only do one side at a time, and believe me, that makes a difference! Some women do prefer this one to the In Style, however.
Boppy Original Pillow - I love my Boppy! I got it with my daughter, and I'm using it now with my son. It holds him just right for me to nurse him. Nursing is so much more comfortable with this!
On-The-Go Fold-Up Booster - My inlaws use this one, since they don't want to have to store a full-size high chair in their home. It works wonderfully and can be taken anywhere, as it folds up to a fairly small size. You can strap it to the chair, so it's quite secure. You don't have to use the tray, so it makes a great booster seat for a child old enough to sit right at the table.
