Cameras and camcorders are a great way to record the everyday and special events of your life. Digital cameras have made it so that even taking hundreds of photos is quite affordable - you only print those you really want, and store the rest on your computer or delete them!
I started taking so many pictures when I got my first digital camera. It just makes it so much easier now that I can take a picture any time my daughter comes running up saying, "Take my picture, Mommy!" which happens pretty regularly around here.

JVC Everio GZMC200 - I just have to recommend this digital camcorder! I worked on Christmas season demonstrating camcorders, when the newest ones were recording on miniature DVDs. I like this idea better! Yes, it will take some time to download your movies onto your computer, but then when you want to burn a DVD, it's full-size, holds more, and costs less than the mini-DVDs do.
Sony HDR-FX1 3-CCD HDV High Definition Camcorder w/12x Optical Zoom - For the serious videographer. This one films in high definition and the quality shows! I got to play with this when I was demonstrating camcorders as I discussed above, and this one was always a favorite to demonstrate to those who needed something better than a family camcorder.
Sony DCR-DVD505 4MP DVD Handycam Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom - This looks to be better than the DVD camcorders I demonstrated back a couple years ago, yet it's the same price they were back then. I love the idea of being able to film on DVD so you don't have to rewind the tape.
Canon EOS 5D 12.8 MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) - This one is for the serious photographer. Certainly the price tag is not for the faint-hearted. But when you need quality, it just doesn't come much better for the amateur photographer.
Canon PowerShot SD800 IS 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Image-Stabilized Optical Zoom - It constantly amazes me how quickly digital cameras are improving. This one offers great picture quality without overdoing it.
HP Photosmart E327 5MP Digital Camera - A nicely affordable digital camera. If you don't have one yet, just think of the savings on film and only printing the pictures you want.
Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm SLR Camera with EF 28 to 90mm II USM Lens - This film camera is a real beuaty, and costs less than its digital cousins. There are advantages to using film; picture quality is often higher, for one.
Olympus Stylus 80 QD 35mm Camera w/ 38-80mm Zoom - A nice, basic, affordable film camera for everyday use.
Lomography Action Sampler Flash 4-lens 35mm Film Camera - This one just looks like fun! Takes 4 shots in 1 second, so you can see the action. No special film required, although you want to use at least 400 speed.
