Crafts for Kids

Children are inherently creative given the chance. Hand them crayons and they'll draw, so you'd better give them paper too! Give them paints, and they'll create a masterpiece worthy of your refrigerator.

Kids and crafts are a natural pairing. One of the wonderful things about crafting and kids is that you often have the supplies on hand. Paper plates, empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls, paints, markers, all can be used by children to create all kinds of crafts.

Of course, there are all kinds of crafting kits to buy for kids. All you have to do is let them experiment and decide what they enjoy doing most, and you have a way to keep them busy, or something you can do along with them.

One of my current favorites are the washable crayons, markers and paints. I don't like the ones that only work on special paper as much; I dislike having to buy both marker or paint and special paper in order for it to work. I'd rather have to teach my kids that if they mark a surface they shouldn't, they have to clean it up.
