Playing outside should be one of the best parts of being a kid. Running around, playing tag, hide and go seek, running through the sprinklers on a hot day... not only is it fun, it's healthy.
So many outdoor games are quite simply classic. Best of all, many outdoor activities don't require special equipment other than things you already have on hand.
Then there are games such as baseball, basketball, soccer, etc. that require some equipment, a number of people and may have a number of rules.
There are lots of activities you can do outside, such as skating, bicycling and hiking that can be done alone or in a group.
Playing outside is a great way to get exercise. There aren't too many outdoor activities that are strictly sedentary. In other words, parents, it can be good for you too. Just think, rather than go to the gym you could spend time with your kids. They'll love it, and an hour running around with your kids is a lot more fun than an hour going from the treadmill to the stationary bike to the stairclimber to the weights....
