As I said in my article on affiliate marketing, it's nice when you can find a good two-tier affiliate programs. The opportunity to earn money from someone else working is quite appealing. Keep in mind, however, that if YOU can't sell it, why should your subaffiliates. In other words, make sure you believe in the program before you start thinking about subaffiliates.

Two-tier affiliate programs do share the need to build a downline with MLM, which is something to keep in mind. You can earn quite a bit of money doing this, but you may not make any. Remember, a large majority (I've been told 90+%) of affiliates NEVER make any money. In other words, don't rely on your downline. It may take years to build one with people who actually make sales, so you may as well learn to sell the products yourself. Evaluate two-tier programs the same as you would a plain affiliate program and consider any subaffiliate sales a bonus.

Now, there are programs with more than two tiers, but I would generally recommend avoiding them. Such a program encourages affiliates to spend too much time looking for subaffiliates, and not enough on selling the product.

Two-tier programs I recommend:

Site Sell - Strongly recommended by just about everyone who's tried it. You can tell prospects about their hosting, which is expensive but comes with an amazing array of tools to help you build a successful website, promote an assortment of ebooks and even give away free ebooks to promote your affiliate link. The commission here is perhaps unique, in that it is in part determined by how much you are selling. No being a lazy affiliate here. You get quite an array of marketing tools. This is best if you either are using Site Sell yourself or if you get a lot of people thinking about starting a website visiting your site.

AWeber - This is a great autoresponder/newsletter manager. You can't pay for this one under your own affiliate link, but it is two tier. Use this one if your visitors will be interested in using autoresponders or starting a newsletter - in other words, other internet marketers, What's really wonderful about this one is that it gives you a residual income, as it is a monthly or annual service.

Internet Marketing Center - Not the easiest to promote, but if your target market might be interested in Corey Rudl's products, you can make some excellent income. He offers internet marketing information, a newsletter mailing program, associate/affiliate programs and more.

Scam Free Zone - Great program, 3 year cookie, so your referrals are yours for a long time (unless they clean out their cookies), and they pay by PayPal. More internet marketing information, so you need the right audience.

Novasoft - Excellent tools for internet marketing, such as affiliate link protection, a program to add RSS feeds to your webpages so that the search engines see all the updating information and more. I'm buying these as budget allows!

Now, obviously not all of you are targeting internet marketers or even people who want to build a website. Here are some great programs you can try to blend into your current website or build a new one around:

AllSat - Satellite sales pay well, so they are very popular. It may be difficult to promote through pay per click, so think about if you will be able to promote it on a website. If you really want to promote using pay per click, get Google Cash first.

Websponsors - Think your visitors will be interested in freebies or other offers? This one is pretty easy to earn from, and you earn from your subaffiliates too.

The Newbie Club - Are a lot of your visitors new to computers or just want to learn more about them? The Newbie Club has some great tutorials, automation tips and more. You have to join (it's free) to get into the affiliate program, but you'll get some great information by joining.
