Pioneer Transcription Services is always looking for experienced transcriptionists to work as independent contractors. Most work is two-person interviews. Must have foot pedal to handle digital audio files and be located in the United States. We have high standards for our transcriptionists, and try to compensate the best with a higher rate than most transcription services pay.

Academics and students around the world need editors and translators who will understand their discipline(s) as well as they do and the need for any cultural sensitivities across borders. They want to find and work with these editors and translators in a trusted, transparent and credible environment where they can be assured of finding the right person to produce superior quality text. Your role and the requirements
As someone with sufficient academic background in your discipline(s) you will be asked on a project by project basis to translate and/or edit text. The text could take the form of a technical report or manual, an academic thesis or a legal contract, depending on the nature of your discipline(s). You will then be paid a commission rate rate, as set by you. In order to qualify you must be proficient in English and/or German. You must also have an interest and agility in working with language and words, and a desire to fund your education or research while working with text in your discipline(s), thereby broadening your knowledge and experience.

The facilitator and marketer of your skills
Textwings is the facilitator of the website environment where it will market your skills and experience in your discipline(s) without cost. Membership is free and in return for a small commission Textwings receives from the client on completed transactions, Textwings manages and guides every stage of the process to the highest professional standards. This includes securing payment in advance from clients on behalf of translators and editors, professionally insuring our translators and editors against aggressive and unfounded legal claims against their work, the election of Paypal to back all transactions, and testing and verifying each translator and editor.
