Entertaining kids and picky eaters
The Editor's Desk - From Beneath the Clutter
Now that was a fun weekend! We started out Friday by heading to a local apple orchard Ariel had seen on the evening news. Her immediate reaction had been "Can we do that?" so obviously it didn't take long to decide that picking apples there would be a great family activity. I've promised Ariel we'll make an apple pie sometime this week. Saturday we went to Legoland on some discounted tickets my sister was able to get for us. In all honesty, it was fun, but I am glad we didn't pay full price, because it wasnt THAT fun! Won't be going again anytime soon. Then Sunday was my sister-in-law's baby shower. She's having a baby and is due in early February.

Laughing and playing and sanity
The Editor's Desk - From Beneath the Clutter
I've been watching the news from Pakistan and India with a sense of horror these past few days, just seeing the casualty numbers growing, especially those of the children. So many schools collapsed there that they're talking about essentially losing a generation in that area. I just can't imagine that. Even if it isn't quite as bad as that, the simple fact is they have lost a tremendous number of lives in that area and all too many were indeed children.

Make the Children Laugh and Play
OK, I admit it – my daughter’s been singing “Mary had a little lamb” just about incessantly lately. You take inspiration where you find it. It’s a technique that works wonders for kids as well as adults.

Are You A Mostly-Sane WAHM, Too?
I have a confession.
I'm a mostly-sane WAHM. I'm far from the 'got it together' work at home mom that I'd like to be.

Red Flags and Keeping your Kids' Friends Out
The Editor's Desk - From Beneath the Clutter
Well, the kids are finally more or less over the big cold from last week. Wish I could say the same! And just to make life more interesting, I slammed my toe into a box, so it hurts to walk right now too. I spent most of Monday on the couch with my foot propped up.
On the plus side, I've had to take a lot of time to enjoy my kids. That counts for something, doesn't it?

Top 10 Red Flags When Researching a Home Based Business
Red Flags when Researching a Home Based Business
1. No Physical Address or Contact Numbers
The Internet has made it simple for new home based businesses to create a presence without having any real infrastructure or substance. While not all mlm businesses require a physical address, those that are offering goods or services to reps and consumers would be expected to have some traceable location. The lack of a phone number makes it all but impossible to pursue any customer service, commission, or other representative issue.

Parents - It's okay to say "no" to friends
Today was a beautiful day, one of the last great days of summer I presume, considering it is officially Fall. Typically, our house would be filled with the sounds of neighborhood children playing either laughing, crying, arguing or being unbelievably quiet. The quiet times are when I need to worry most.
