I'm hoping to pick it up from the shop today after Ariel's preschool, but of course it will be raining so I need to make sure to bring a plastic bag to protect it. They had to reinstall the hard drive, so basically everything that wasn't backed up should be gone. Frustrating, but I was mostly backed up on the old machine, which I am using to write this newsletter. Think I need to back things up a little more often, though! (read more)

Working with Kids in the House and Steps to Success
The Editor's Desk - From Beneath the Clutter
I'm in the process of implementing some of the more popular choices from the poll a couple weeks ago about what people would most like to see on this site. I put up a new section on time management, which I hope will be of use to those who need it. I'll be adding to it over time, but even with the best of planning there's only so much time in the day and I have a lot of projects to work on. I'll be figuring out ways to do some of the others too. However, since my own form of time management includes rather a lot of family time, it may take a while. But at least I get to have fun! Getting Your Preschooler Ready to Read and Starting Home Schooling
The Editor's Desk - From Beneath the Clutter
It's National Reading Month, and I've decided to play along, at least this week, with a focus on education in the newsletter. I won't be doing this all month, since this is not a homeschooling or other child education topic newsletter, but since many at home parents have an interest in this area, I think one week is reasonable.

Getting Your Preschooler Ready to Learn to Read and Write
