Low Cost Vacations, Family Values and Saving Money

The Editor's Desk - From Beneath the Clutter

This is one of those times where it's hard for me to get inspired. I got word Sunday that my grandfather has taken a turn for the worse. He's been fighting his third bout with pneumonia. He's in Sacramento, about 500 miles from me, so visiting isn't something that can be done easily. Waiting to see what happens is so hard!

Low Cost Vacations And Family Values

The family vacation is a tradition intended to bring families closer together and one that many of us would just not think of giving up. Quality time for the family reinforces the importance of family values. It's sort of a "time out" from the day to day routine of living and growing. A chance to focus on getting to know better those that are most important to us, our family. Of course, how much importance you place on this event depends on your past experiences.

Getting Spouse Support to Work At Home

I have been surprised by the number of times I have talked people who made the decision to work-at-home and then the very next day, after talking to their spouse, gave up their goal. What baffles me is not so much that the spouse talked them out of trying to work-at-home, but that if the spouse was going to have influence over the decision, why wasn't he or she brought into the process earlier?

Necessary Items For Your Home Office

Ok, so you have decided to start your own home-based business, what next? Well there are a few things you should do before you open the doors. Since you will be working from home you will have many distractions from crying babies to barking dogs so it is very important to designate an area as your home office exclusively. This should be an area of your home that is only to be used to conduct business . Try to find an area that does not have a lot of traffic. For example the corner of the kitchen or family room would not be a suitable option for a home office. Maybe a spare bedroom or invest in some movable walls and take over part of a finished basement as your new office.

Healthy Living for You and Your Children

Moms - Take Care of Yourself Too!

When you’re a mother, it’s easy to neglect yourself so that you have more time to do all the little things for your family. It’s not healthy, but most moms do it. There is much to be said, however, for making some time to care for yourself.

Staying Sane in a Home Business - An Overload Rescue Plan

Well, you finally did it, you've escaped the break your back, away from home work force and are now self-employed. You started your very own home based business. There you sit, in your nice new office, whether it's in the corner of the sitting room or in a converted bedroom, surrounded by your equally brand new toys, your computer, desk and some strategically placed shelves.
