Looking Great
The Editor's Desk - From Beneath the Clutter
Wow! Summer hit hard and fast around here this year. We've been getting temps over 100 in my area, and humid to boot. That's slightly unusual for the area; normally hot days aren't all that humid.

Looking Great without Spending a Fortune
One of the hardest things to do when you’re on a tight budget is keep a nice wardrobe for yourself and your family. Most often it’s hardest on the stay at home mom, since her wardrobe is the easiest one to skimp on. But with a little wise spending the entire family can dress better without breaking the budget.

Stay at Home Moms--It's Okay to Say NO
"Hey, can you do me a favor?" Do you hear it all of the time? Everyone thinks that stay-at-home moms are loaded with spare time and energy. All I'm doing is swimming knee-deep in laundry, dishes, physical therapy equipment, special diet needs, and doctor and specialist appointments. I have all the time in the world for everyone else, right? Wrong!

Shortcuts?
The Editor's Desk - From Beneath the Clutter
It's been an exciting week in my family. As some of you may have read in the forums, my older sister had to have her baby early. She's home now and doing fine, but it came as quite a surprise. The call that the baby was going to be taken early sent me scurrying to the post office with a box of baby blankets that we had used for Gage. They were used by my grandmother, then given to my mother, who let me use them for Gage when he was premature, because they're thicker than most baby blankets you find these days, and warmth can be quite a problem for preemies. Where’s the Shortcut?
One of the most common illusions people who want to work at home have about working at home is that it’s easy. Somehow a home business is supposed to generate far more money than a traditional job while leaving time to play with the kids and keep a perfect house. (read more)

Shorter newsletter and money mistakes
The Editor's Desk - From Beneath the Clutter
I'm back! Sorry about skipping last week's newsletter. I was out of town on a rather sudden trip to visit my grandfather in the hospital, about 500 miles away. He's a fighter, that's all I can say! Got back late Monday night too tired to work on the newsletter, so I decided to take a week off from it.
I've decided to try cutting this newsletter down in size a little bit, just to see how well that goes. Now there's just the feature article, no guest article. I may use this space to announce other articles elsewhere on this site, but I'm just curious if a shorter newsletter might work a little better. Feel free to let me know!

Expensive Money Mistakes
Just about everyone makes mistakes with their money. It\'s just so easy to fall into the various traps that keep you from making the most of what you have. Then you have the rising cost of living that makes things get worse instead of better.
