The FAA and airlines recommend that a car seat be used when traveling with children that weigh between 20 and 40 lbs. and The American Academy of Pediatrics has been trying to get a law passed since 1991 for the manadatory use of car seats on planes. In recognizing the importance of having a car seat on the plane the Pac Back was developed to ease the burden of lugging a car seat to the plane. The Pac Back is essentially a deluxe back pack without the storage area. By simply fastening 2 nylon quick clips, the car seat or booster seat is securely attached to the carrier. The product is built on an internal frame system, with heavy-duty webbing, nylon clips and, most important, padded shoulder straps and hip protectors - the same materials and configuration found on the finest mountain back packs.
