5 Key Steps to Your Success as a Virtual Assistant
eBook written by a successful virtual assistant to help you get starting on your own business.

One of the most important things you should do as you set up your virtual assistant home business is to figure out which services you will offer. A virtual assistant can do almost anything an assistant in the office can do. Depending on your skills, you may even be able to do more than most in-office assistants.

Some of the basic skills most virtual assistants will choose to offer include:

But there's a lot more that you can do. It all depends on what you're good at.

A lot of virtual assistants do at least basic website design and/or maintenance. Depending on your skills and the tools you have on hand, this can be pretty easy or very challenging. You don't have to be a master of great website design unless that's your specialty. In that case, you're probably going to market yourself more as a website designer.

You can also do logo design. Most home businesses don't need a particularly fancy logo, and so they aren't looking for a graphic designer. But they do want someone who can create a logo that will bring them business.

Similarly, you may be asked to create business stationery. This often can go right along with logo creation.

A virtual assistant can also help with proposal writing, advertising campaign management, research compilation, newsletter management and so forth. If you have the skills for these, come up with a price for it.

Perhaps the bottom line is that if you can perform the job for a business from your home, you can offer it as a virtual assistant. Get creative and find a way to make yourself stand out to the businesses that you would like to work for.
