Working at Home in Data Entry

Data entry is much as it sounds. You type in data from source documents.

As with most work at home jobs, data entry positions pay on production. The faster you type, the more you can earn.

You can expect most positions to require a certain keying speed. You may be more familiar with your typing speed, but as much data entry involves numbers, speed is calculated as kph (keys per hour). You may have to take a test to prove that you key fast enough.

Many work at home data entry assignments involve typing in documents that had been scanned into the computer. They may not be easy to read in all cases.

Obviously, speed and accuracy are a must for these positions. You may be expected to verify accuracy of entered data, which is probably a good idea at least until you are very good at the job.

High speed internet is a requirement for many work at home positions these days.
