Working at Home Not Always Easy

Nap time, so I’m free to post. Actually, I need to be doing my medical transcription, but it can wait 10 minutes.

One of the hardest things about working at home is being at home all day, especially with a small child. I spend at least an hour a day outside playing with my daughter, often longer, read multiple books multiple times to her, answer most of my email with her on my lap, and rarely get 15 minutes at a stretch at the computer without interruption when my daughter is awake. It’s very hard to get things done that way. But I love it. I’m a firm believer in “family first, business second, everything else when I can cram it in.”

Wow, is AdWords frustrating. I’m thinking I’m going to just promote my site with it for a time, while I learn a bit more about promoting affiliate programs with it. They slowed my account for the third time, which means I have to pay to restart it at full volume. I’m going to let it go slow for a few days, since it’s the same cost to restart from scratch. I need a little more time to decide what to do with my ads to make them better. I really don’t understand why they slow keywords that have yet to get any views, and therefore of course cannot have any clicks. That is decidedly my chief frustration right now.

Working on getting my discussion boards going. You can see the link to the left if you want to join in. I have a few great people posting there, and hope to get more soon.
