Especially given the fact that others will frequently attempt to do this for you. I have a friend who was recently at the dentist, and when the hygienist asked what she did for a living, she said she’s a stay at home mom.

The hygienist later was talking about going back to school for additional education, and when my friend mentioned that she had her bachelors degree, the hygienist was completely mystified. She insultingly asked her why she was “just” a mom when she had an education.

Know that being a stay at home mom is valuable. Don’t forget it – no matter what others tell you.
