If things are really bad, then of course, frugality wins.

But—

Sanity is important, too.

Having a lunch with a friend without kids is a lifesaver. And a sanity saver. Happy moms are better moms. These little expenses should be built into the budget, like hubby’s lunch meetings.

I’m a stay at home with 2 kids and have been living a frugal lifestyle for over 2 decades.

I can tell you that frugality is extremely important; especially in this economy. Money saved is money earned. You’ll be pleasantly surprised how much you can slash your expenses by without making major sacrifices.
