Nothing to do with parenting, working at home, etc. I found a link to EarthNow’s Landsat Image Viewer. These are fresh shots of what the satellites are seeing. Not necessarily live, I gather, but the shots I saw were from today, so awfully close to live. It’s very cool.

You can’t zoom in or anything. Just think of those pictures from space you sometimes see sold as posters.

If you visit, use a little patience. It takes a few minutes to load. I went to the page, waited for a few moments, then checked my email, and by the time I was done with that it had loaded.

It changes which satellite regularly. I started with Landsat7, and when that headed out over the ocean, Landsat 5 took over.
