And my kids enjoyed every minute.<\/p>\n

Yes, we made slime today, even though I’m really not feeling well. Dealing with what appears to be a 24 hour flu – I was miserable<\/em> last night! But this morning I’m feeling significantly better, if not actually well.<\/p>\n

The recipe is really easy, although I did have to go buy supplies for it the other day when I first planned this. I didn’t have enough Elmer’s glue on hand, and no Borax at all.<\/p>\n

2 cups water
\n1-1\/4 cup Elmer’s glue
\nfood coloring
\n1\/3 cup hot water
\n1 tsp Borax<\/p>\n

Thoroughly mix 2 cups water with glue. Add food coloring as desired. For 2 children, I mixed thoroughly the water and glue, then separated and allowed children to mix their own colors.<\/p>\n

Mix hot water and Borax. Stir into glue and water mixture, removing slime as necessary. You may have to make an extra batch of the hot water and Borax to make the entire mixture into slime.<\/p>\n

The slime will be rather tacky at first. The more you work it, the less tacky it will be.<\/p>\n

My kids really enjoyed this experiment. Both chose blue and yellow food coloring, and ended up with different shades of green, so it was fun explaining to them how different amounts of blue and yellow make the different shades of green.<\/p>\n
