We’re going through what I call an EternaLaundry phase right now. That is, nearly daily laundry.<\/p>\n

\"eternalaundry\"<\/div>\n

It’s caused mostly by my son. He’s in one of his phases where he wets through his diaper pretty much every night. We can almost always tell when it has happened. If he wakes up fussy, he’s probably wet. If he plays quietly, probably dry.<\/p>\n

Of course, he’s not the only cause. Both of my kids love to play in the dirt. While this isn’t always quite as urgent as soaked sheets when it comes to odor control, anyone who has tried to rescue dirt-stained clothes from the rag pile knows how much work it can be to get the clothes clean again.<\/p>\n

Don’t even get me started on the random food spills, especially the unidentifiable ones. Where do kids find all this dirt? And was that really a part of dinner?
\nMy daughter doesn’t mind at all that I have to do a lot of laundry. It means her favorite outfits are clean more often. I’ve started having her help with some of the stain fighting, and she knows how hard I had to work to save her favorite pink skirt the time she and her brother poured water all over the patio, drew all over that with chalk, and then rolled in it.<\/p>\n

On the plus side, having a family of four means it’s almost always a full load, so long as there’s nothing I have to be picky about. Take a load of well-worn clothes, regularly washed clothes, and you have few worries about colors bleeding, so if some white clothes get in there, there probably won’t be any damage.<\/p>\n

Of course, when I started this post I was just finishing up this morning’s round of EternaLaundry. Then I decided to give my son his lunch. He chose soup. Because my darling husband has loaded the table up, I sat him down with a blanket to protect the carpet.<\/p>\n

Yup. Gonna be doing another load soon.<\/p>\n
