What's With Those Data Entry Job Sites?
If you spend much time at all looking for work at home jobs on Craigslist, you know the jobs I’m talking about. They promise that you can earn great money doing data entry. You click through to the site and… you have to pay for the information.
For those of you who have learned much at all about work at home scams, you know something stinks right there and then. You know better than to pay for a job.
Many of these sites show an image of money they’ve earned, sometimes thousands of dollars a day. They talk about getting paid every two weeks, direct deposit into their bank.
Well, these aren’t jobs, but people really do make money in the way they’re talking about.
These people are selling electronic products through Clickbank. They become an affiliate and earn a percentage for each ebook or other product they sell. Most of these programs appear to push you going into pay per click advertising, which can get quite expensive if you aren’t careful and don’t learn fast.
While there’s nothing strictly wrong with selling information on how to make money by selling Clickbank products, I strongly resent their insistence on pretending it’s a job. It’s a home business. You are not an employee!
Some people make very good money selling Clickbank products. Many do not. I don’t know which particular methods these ebooks recommend, but I can tell you I wouldn’t buy from anyone who chooses to be so deceptive on their sales page. I wouldn’t trust them to give me accurate information. I certainly wouldn’t want them to get any of MY money for that information, even if it were accurate.
If you want to learn to make money off selling products offered through Clickbank, here are the basics:
- Sign up to be an affiliate. This is free to do and very easy.
- Go through the products and decide what you would like to promote. You want a commission of at least $10/sale in most cases, and an adequate percentage of the cost of the product. The information is right there for you to see.
- Create a website, pay per click advertising campaign, or advertise the product in your forum signature. Which tactic you use depends on your interests, skills and how much money you want to spend trying this.
Yes, there’s more to it, as well as other tactics that you could use, but that isn’t the point of this post. I don’t believe in doing business with companies that aren’t honest upfront about what you’ll be doing.
