How is Paid Blogging Going for Me?

It’s been a long time since I updated this. No sponsored post either, just what I’m thinking about since yesterday’s post on the paid blogging scam.

Things with PayPerPost have been going well. I don’t take a lot of opportunities, but I average about $300/month with them across all my blogs. I could do a lot more if I weren’t so picky about what I blog about. The range of topics is still great, and sometimes I learn about really interesting websites.

I do a little bit of blogging with Blogsvertise. I don’t get a lot of work for them, and I often choose not to do what they do send because it isn’t relevant enough. Pay is on the low side, but not unreasonable.
ReviewMe also sends very little work. The pay is great when it happens, but it is pretty scarce. They now have a rule that you can only accept 10 campaign offers in a given month.

Both Blogsvertise and ReviewMe now have ways you can find available opportunities on your own. The work still tends to be pretty scarce, but it’s there if you decide you want it.

Each of these companies has been excellent about paying promptly. I have on occasion seen payments come in a little bit late, but that is generally associated with weekends or holidays. It has not been a serious problem in my experience.

What I like about paid blogging is that I can decide when and how much to work, and know what the paid posts will give me. The trouble is that there often aren’t that many things that I will feel like blogging about. But it is nice to have a way to earn some extra money and know exactly what is coming in.
